How the air tightness test works
1. Information and calculation
We review the drawings and project details, calculate the building envelope area and confirm the test requirements.
2. Site preparation
A calibrated fan is installed securely in an external doorway and eligible ventilation openings are temporarily sealed.
3. Testing
Atmospheric conditions are checked and the building is pressurised and depressurised in accordance with the applicable test procedure.
4. Results and certification
We calculate the result, discuss obvious leakage routes where practical and issue the certificate following a successful test.
